[스크랩] 조각보 분위기의 Gee`s Bend quilt

미국에 새로나온 39센트짜리 우표에요.

American Treasures 시리즈에 나온 Gee's Bend Quilt 에요.

 

 

알라바마의 목화 농장에서 일하던 흑인노예들이 노예해방이 된 후에 Gee's Bend 라는곳에 모여살며 목화농사를 계속 짓고 타 지역과 교류없이 오랜 세월을 지내다보니 그 지방에서만 볼수있는 독특한 퀼트 스타일이 생겼다고해요. 우리 조각보와 분위기가 흡사하다는 생각이 드는군요.
